NEW DELHI: Telecom operator Tata Teleservices today said it aims to increase its subscriber base to 100 million by 2011.
“We expect to take our subscriber base to 100 million by 2011,” Chief Executive Anil Sardana said in an audio call at an event here.
The telecom services provider had over 50 million subscribers at the end of October.
The company also expects earnings of its GSM operations, carried out under the Tata Docomo brand, in southern India to become Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBIDTA) positive by June next year.
“The South circles is where we started from in July. Before the end of 12 months, we expect to become EBIDTA positive in those GSM circles,” Sardana said.
Talking about the competition in the Indian telecom industry, Sardana said, “My sense is there will be consolidation. New operators, they could be subtle targets of consolidation.”
