Business – BCCI, IMG renegotiate IPL deal

MUMBAI: Putting an end to the bitter dispute between the BCCI and IMG, the two parties will sign a fresh contract that will see the sports management firm receive an annual fee between Rs 250 and 270 million for managing the Indian Premier League.

The BCCI will discuss the issue in its annual general meeting (AGM) on 25 September in Mumbai.

Recently, the cricket board had creased its pact with IMG over a payment row for the second edition of the high profile tourney wherein the firm had asked a fee of Rs 330 million that the council felt was irrational.

The renewed bipartite contract is part of the original ten-year deal, beginning 2008-09, that was signed two years ago.

Meanwhile, the AMG agenda will also discuss the recompensation to the IPL franchises for the losses earned with the tournament shifted to South Africa.
